Binti, our yellow Lab, began having problems with her knees about a year ago when she was 2.5 years old. We at first gave her Rymadyl for pain PRN. Then as time went on, we had to give her Rymadyl for her pain 2 times a day. She loves to play and go for walks, however she no longer would go for long walks without being able to lay down or get off the floor.

This past March she rupturedd her left cruciate ligament, and a week later ruptured her right one. Two weeks later we had an appointment with CSU Vet Teaching Hospital to discuss our options. We decided to go with the TPLO. In April she had her left knee done. She recovered very well. In three weeks she was able to bear her weight on that leg. At 6 weeks she had her knee checked with an x-ray and everything seemed to be fine. Her bone had not completely healed yet, so we scheduled for another check up a month later. All was well, she was however very uncomfortable with her right leg, so we did a TPLO on her right leg ASAP. That was almost 2 months ago and she is still limping on that leg. My husband and I think it's because we got overzealous to take her for A WALK TOO SOON. This leg has been painful from the get go. She recovered after surgery faster, but long term it has been a long painful recovery for her. I feel badly for her every single day. She wants to play and go for walks so badly, and is unable to. She has her 2 month check this Wednesday. I am fearful that her leg isn't healing as it should and they will have to go back in to repair whatever is giving her so much pain.
