Responsible for all technical, design and editorial aspects of the Human Resources web site (web.mit.edu/hr/). Responsible for coordinating dozens of individual, group, department and team sites under a cohesive whole; all site enhancements, updates and redesigns; creating new sites.

Spots opportunities for enhancing processes or improving the services Human Resources provides through technology (including online forms, databases with web connectivity, intranets, extranets, XML, e-learning) and proactively guides the development and implementation of web-based solutions. Provides professional consulting with individuals and groups within HR on all aspects of designing, developing and supplying content for web projects.

Requests, coordinates with and complies with MIT-level web services and guidelines, including access for individuals with disabilities and cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility. Develops and supports sitewide standards, guidelines and methodologies. Manages a cross-functional team of web developers to build Human Resources' internal site development capabilities.

Web Content Coordinator, Organization & Employee Development, Human Resources
Responsible for web site architecture, planning, design, development and maintenance for Organization & Employee Development (OED), part of Human Resources at MIT. Under my leadership, the OED web site (web.mit.edu/hr/oed) is expanding to include substantial, comprehensive and innovative e-learning tools and content for the MIT community.

Promoted August 1998. Consulted on user experience and site usability for PC Week Online and a growing list of new business-focused sites (branded overall as "Business & Technology"). Prioritized, outlined and assigned development tasks to a central ZDNet operations team. Led PC Week's transition to Vignette StoryServer for content publishing. Ensured cross-browser compatibility. Led the development and implementation of two major site redesigns.

Expanded role in late 1998 to include technical responsibility for 14 new "resource center" sites (on a variety of business subjects including Java, security, Linux and Windows 2000); Small Business; E-Commerce, Inter@ctive Week and ZDNet Careers.

PC Week Online Associate Editor
Promoted September 1996. Edited and posted breaking news, commentary and reviews on PC Week's web site. Authored daily text and HTML e-mail newsletter (subscribership increased from 14,000 to more than 100,000 subscribers during this period). Managed conversion of PC Week print-edition articles into HTML format; maintained format and design standards site-wide.

Layout Editor (Ziff Davis Inc.)
Handled formatting and layout of advertising and editorial for weekly print edition of PC Week. Responsible for shipping content to printer and coordinating transfer of art and content to online branches and international licensees. Strong web interest led to responsibility for formatting and posting news and reviews on the fledgling PC Week web site.
